Located in the municipality of Cercedilla, between 1,850 and 2,262 m above sea level, and only 8 km from the town, it connects the provinces of Madrid and Segovia by road. It houses animal and plant species of great value such as Scot’s pine forests, small mammals, and birds.
It is very popular on weekends, a traditional place for skiing and hiking. Today it serves as a platform for the practice of sports activities, such as cross-country and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, the starting point for ski-mountaineering tests, marathons, and mountain races. There is the possibility of renting equipment as well as receiving introductory courses in snow and mountain sports.
